General Public - G Job Duties Lead the cashiers staff who perform duties related to the receipt, security, processing, depositing and accounting for more than $700 million annually.
Coordinate the receipt, tracking, posting and deposit of daily cash receipts to include benefit fraud/overpayment payments, tax and delinquent tax payments, reimbursable tax payments, audit/amended payments, field office receipts, re-deposits of undeliverable unemployment insurance refunds and benefit checks, combined wage checks, data access reimbursement payments, Usage Agreement rent payments, other miscellaneous Administrative payments and petty cash.
Lead assigned activities to safeguard the agency's cash resources and financial interests; ensure actions comply with financial and operational regulations, policies and procedures; work with various parties (e.
g.
, employers, internal and external staff, and banks) to resolve discrepancies and issues.
Provide supplemental support during absences.
Minimum Qualifications Considerable knowledge of cash management, internal controls, and generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
Strong analytical, customer service, decision making, oral and written communication, and computer (e.
g.
, Microsoft Office Professional and Oracle or comparable software) skills.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead the workflow of a high-volume production team; maintain compliance with mandated deadlines and requirements; collect, analyze and interpret financial data; and research, resolve and account for complex transactions.
Experience receiving and processing checks and/or cash, and working with financial transactions.
Additional Considerations Experience leading a fiscal staff operating in a high-production environment; working with bank operations; and working with state cash management and cashiering duties.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
